Terms of Service

ChildcareHub Claimed Listings — for nursery and childcare providers

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ChildcareHub's claimed listing service ("Claimed Listing"), a paid subscription offered by ChildcareHub ("ChildcareHub", "we", "us", "our") at childcarehub.co.uk. By starting a free trial or subscribing to a Claimed Listing, you ("you", "your") agree to these Terms.

These Terms form a binding agreement between you and ChildcareHub. Please read them carefully before signing up.

1. The Service

Claiming your listing on ChildcareHub gives your childcare setting an enhanced presence on childcarehub.co.uk. A Claimed Listing subscription includes:

  • Your phone number, email, and website displayed on your listing
  • A "Verified" badge on your listing
  • Photos (up to 5) on your listing page
  • Custom description, opening hours, and fee schedule
  • Featured placement above unclaimed listings in search results
  • A highlighted listing style with a "Featured" badge to draw parent attention
  • Monthly performance report

We reserve the right to adjust the features included in a Claimed Listing over time. We will notify you of any material reduction in features at least 30 days in advance.

2. Free Trial

When you claim your listing you receive a 60-day free trial. During the trial you have full access to all Claimed Listing features at no charge.

At the end of the 60-day trial your subscription will automatically convert to a paid monthly subscription at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the trial ends.

By providing your payment details when starting the trial, you authorise us to charge your card at the end of the trial period. We will send you a reminder email at least 7 days before your trial expires.

3. Pricing and Billing

Following the free trial, a Claimed Listing is billed at £49 per month. Prices are exclusive of VAT where applicable.

Billing is processed securely by Stripe. Your payment card will be charged automatically on the same date each month, starting from the date your trial ends.

If a payment fails, we will attempt to collect payment again. If payment remains outstanding after two attempts, we may suspend your claimed listing until the balance is settled.

4. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time by emailing us at hello@childcarehub.co.uk.

Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Your listing will continue to show claimed listing features until that date.

We do not offer refunds for any unused portion of a billing period already paid. If you cancel mid-month, you will retain access to claimed listing features until the end of that paid period.

5. Your Listing Content

You are responsible for ensuring that all information on your listing — including contact details, descriptions, and any other content — is accurate, up to date, and not misleading.

You must not use your listing to promote services that are unlicensed, illegal, or not registered with Ofsted or the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) where required.

We reserve the right to edit, suspend, or permanently remove your listing at any time if, in our reasonable judgement, it contains inaccurate, misleading, offensive, or otherwise harmful content, or if you are in breach of these Terms. Where we remove a listing for cause, no refund will be issued.

6. Enquiries and Results

Claiming your listing gives it greater visibility on our platform. However, we make no guarantee as to the number, frequency, or quality of enquiries or parent interactions you receive as a result of a claimed listing.

Results will vary depending on factors outside our control, including your location, local demand for childcare, and the completeness of your listing. ChildcareHub is a directory platform; we are not responsible for whether a parent contacts you, visits your setting, or secures a childcare place.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your subscription at any time, with immediate effect and without refund, if:

  • You breach any of these Terms
  • You provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information in connection with your listing or account
  • Your setting loses its registration with Ofsted or CIW, or is subject to a regulatory enforcement action
  • You use the platform in a manner we reasonably consider harmful to ChildcareHub, its users, or third parties

We will ordinarily give you notice of a suspected breach and a reasonable opportunity to remedy it before terminating, except where the breach is serious or we are required to act immediately.

8. Changes to Price and Terms

We may update these Terms or our pricing at any time. If we increase the subscription price, we will give you at least 30 days' written notice by email to the address on your account before the new price takes effect.

Continued use of the service after the notice period constitutes your acceptance of the updated price or Terms. If you do not accept a change, you may cancel your subscription before it takes effect and you will not be charged the new price.

For non-material changes to these Terms (such as clarifications that do not affect your rights), we may update them without advance notice. The current version of these Terms is always available at childcarehub.co.uk/terms-nursery and will show the date last updated.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ChildcareHub's total liability to you in connection with your claimed listing shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the three months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

We are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of profits, loss of anticipated savings, or loss of goodwill, whether arising from contract, tort, or otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for: fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; death or personal injury caused by our negligence; or any other liability that cannot be excluded or restricted under English law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms — including any question regarding their existence, validity, or termination — shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Data Sharing and Responsibilities

Parent Enquiries

When parents contact you through ChildcareHub, we collect and share their contact details (name, email, phone number, and message) with you so that you can respond to their enquiry. ChildcareHub is the data controller for enquiry data collected through our platform.

Your Responsibilities

When you receive parent enquiry data from us, you must:

  • Process parent data in compliance with UK GDPR and applicable data protection law
  • Respond promptly to any data rights requests made by parents (access, erasure, rectification)
  • Maintain appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect personal data
  • Use enquiry data only to respond to the relevant parent enquiry and not for unrelated marketing

Our Role

  • ChildcareHub is the data controller for enquiry data collected through our platform
  • We may use anonymised and aggregated enquiry data for analytics and service improvement
  • We will never sell parent personal data to third parties

Your Business Data

We process your business contact details and listing information to provide our service. For full details of how we handle provider data, see our Privacy Notice.
